Working with private landowners

The Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System is working to protect, connect and restore environmentally significant lands with both private and public landowners. Private landowners play an important role in achieving the EcoPark System’s conservation vision.

Ecological stewardship of your property

Support and resources are available for landowners who are interested in undertaking ecological stewardship activities to care for their land. The Hamilton Halton Watershed Stewardship Program (HHWSP) has been working with landowners in the Hamilton and Halton areas for the past 20 years to support their stewardship efforts.

Please visit the HHWSP website or contact the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System office for more information.

Permanently protecting your property

Support is also available for landowners interested in permanently protecting their land through donation, purchase or conservation easement.

Please see the Permanently protecting land in the EcoPark System page on this website or contact the Cootes to Escarpment EcoPark System office for more information.
